Combining churches into one new Connection Church
Collaborating together in ministry in the city for more than a decade, pastors Jerry and Jeff became friends, encouraging one another in life and ministry. They sensed God’s joy in praying through an opportunity to explore the unification of two ministries. Over the past year, the two leadership teams worked together closely to prepare the congregations for becoming one new church. Now, together we are even better!
Renew Church
Renew Church was planted in 2012 by Jeff and Kari Patterson in Oregon City, seeking to be a family of missionary servants, introducing our neighbors to Jesus our King. After meeting at the Pioneer Community Center for a season, we gathered in the Revival Building for 12+ years until combining ministries with Connection. You’ll hear echoes of “WHOs before DOs” from Pastor Jeff, and since Renew is more of a mindset than a name, we are happy to ask God to renew us as we connect with Him and His people.
Connection Church
Connection Church was formally established in 2006 by Jerry and Cindy Waggener as a church plant in NE Portland with a heart for connecting people to God and each other. In 2013, we began feeling the Lord redirecting our steps to Oregon City. Our first services were at the Pioneer Community Center. In 2019, an opportunity arose that allowed us to lease our current location on Warner Parrott Rd. On March 21, 2025, we were able to purchase the property we now reside in, planting the gospel in this community.
